Description:

In April of this year, Kansas City voters overwhelmingly voted to retain a 1% Earnings Tax which provides revenues of $202.6 million (44.2% of budget core). Learn how local civic leadership used LED data as the cornerstone of a campaign strategy to educate voters on the share of tax paid by non-residents. While it can sometimes be difficult to measure the impact of our data and analysis, this is a great story of LED data being used to directly influence decision making and public policy.

A question and answer session will follow the presentations.

This webinar is limited to 200 registrants.

Speaker bio:

Jerry Lonergan is Associate Director with The Civic Council of Greater Kansas City, a private-funded CEO-led organization seeking to positively impact the economic growth/quality of life for the Kansas City region. With the Civic Council in preparation for a board strategic planning exercise he recently conducted dialogues with over 60 business, civic and government leaders and developed a set of 40 data indicators to measure and compare the region’s performance. Other current projects include: tracking Kansas City’s city budget issues; a study of poverty and economic opportunity, including contracting and monitoring a research team developing an “income model” for the region; staffing a task force reviewing the energy, water, and technology growth potential in the region; and, developing strategies for revising leadership programs to attract more diverse participants.
